What is Kybella®?
The active ingredient in Kybella® is synthetic deoxycholic, which is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that assists in the breakdown and absorption of fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella® destroys fat cells, and once they are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat. This results in reduced fullness under the chin and an improved chin profile.
How long do results last?
Once the fat cells are destroyed, they cannot store or accumulate fat, so the fat loss in those cells is permanent; however, the treatment does not prevent new cells from forming. Continuing a healthy, active lifestyle and healthy diet will have the best long-term results.
