What is BBL HERO®?
The BBL HERO® laser is a corrective phototherapy treatment that uses BroadBand Light® (BBL) to target signs of aging, sun damage, browns and reds, acne, laxity, and other skin conditions. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, younger, and more vibrant.
What conditions does it treat?
The BBL HERO® laser treats brown pigmentation such as freckles, age spots, and sunspots or sun damage. It also treats vascularity such as redness, small blood vessels, broken capillaries, and rosacea as well as aging skin, uneven skin texture, acne, and loss of firmness.
How does BBL HERO® work?
The light energy delivered by the BBL HERO® laser will precisely deliver laser energy to specific targets in your skin and gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. If brown spots are the target, BBL HERO® penetrates the skin to reach the pigment. The particles of the pigment left behind will peel or slough off within 7-14 days. If redness is the target, blood vessels in the superficial layers of the skin absorb the laser energy which causes them to close. Over the course of several weeks, the body continues to absorb the destroyed vessel remnants.
What does BBL HERO® feel like?
BBL HERO® is designed to be as comfortable as possible. Advanced technology provides 2x cooling and is 4x faster and safer, giving you a more comfortable treatment experience than the traditional BBL laser. Patients often describe that the BBL HERO® laser feels like a warm sensation. The intensity of the sensation can vary based on your customized treatment and the specific settings used by your FACE laser provider.
Is there any downtime with BBL HERO®?
Immediately following treatment, you can expect to see redness, and it may feel like a slight sunburn in the treated area. Depending on your customized treatment settings, you may have swelling for a day or two. Pigmentation will turn darker and will slough off in 7-14 days.

How many treatments of BBL HERO® will I need?

Maintenance treatments are recommended quarterly throughout the year, with the change of the seasons.
What aftercare will I need after a BBL HERO® laser treatment?
You may be sensitive to sunlight and should apply sunscreen and other skin care products as directed by your FACE laser provider. Our laser protocol is no sun two weeks before and after your laser treatment
