BBL – BroadBand Light
- BBL is essentially a highly advanced version of IPL (Intense pulsed light). BBL is more powerful and targeted.
- Treats – age spots, vascularity/redness, uneven tone. Targets more superficial issues than a HALO.
- Acne, scars, photodamaged skin, hyperpigmentation, broken capillaries, rosacea.
- Changes the expressions of genes associated with the aging process to more closely resemble young skin.
- Multiple filters are used in one treatment to treat all skin concerns.
BBL HERO
- High energy rapid output and 4x faster than the traditional BBL.
- With the newest technology of HERO, treatments are not only faster but additionally more comfortable during treatment.
- The newest most innovative BBL treatment on the market.
- Treats sun damage, brown spots, vascularity, hyperpigmentation, redness, and acne.
- Revitalizes, smooths, and tightens skin while improving tone.
- Not only great for the face, neck, and chest like our traditional BBL devices. HERO also delivers the same results to the arms, shoulders, legs, and back.
BBL BroadBand Light therapy, also known as Intense Pulsed Light therapy (IPL), uses cutting-edge technology to produce younger-looking skin that is firmer and more even in tone and texture. Our skilled providers will use the BBL to target & help diminish aging brown spots (hyper-pigmentation), reds in the skin & broken capillaries.
HOW TO PREPARE
We want your skin in the most natural state possible. Two weeks prior to your appointment avoid the following:
- Sun exposure
- All tanning lotions, sprays, or pills
- Tanning beds
- Medications that increase photosensitivity
Avoid blood thinners pre & post to increase the success of vascular reduction — especially in rosacea patients.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Your face may appear red or flushed, which usually fades within a few hours, along with some minor swelling.
- Individuals with prominent pigmentation may notice that brown areas become temporarily darker & typically peel off within lO-l4 days.
- You may experience more swelling in vascular-treated areas.
- Some may have a histamine reaction that subsides in about a week.
HOW TO CARE
Following your treatment, an ice pack may be applied to the treated area if desired. For best results, avoid anything that could create heat in skin tissue for 72 hours. This includes:
- Exercise
- Spicy foods
- Alcohol
- Hot showers & baths
It’s Katie here from Sarah Hamilton Face. I am one of the master aestheticians and a provider for our forever young hero BBL body. The forever young BBL body is an incredible way to take care of sun damage, pigmentation, vascularity, vascular lesions, melasma, fine lines and wrinkles. It builds collagen in the skin for every young BBL. L Body actually goes in and turns off our aging genes and turns on our anti-aging genes. By doing that, it’s giving you a clear, smoother looking complexion. People are really good about putting sunscreen on their face, but we forget to treat the rest of the skin so that can start to show aging with our forever young BBL body. We can take care of that. It’s also a really good preventative. If you haven’t worn sunscreen when you’re younger and you’re in your mid twenties, thirties and you’re not seeing that pigmentation or sun damage pop up yet, it’s good to get on top of it. So it’s a really good preventative as well as corrective treatment for the Ultimate Skincare makeover. It pairs so well with our other treatments. I love doing the Forever Young BBL hero with the Potenza because the Potenza is really good for tightening. It has that radio frequency in there, which is going to tighten the skin, and then we can give you that healthy, younger looking skin with our BL Hero to book a consultation for our BBL Forever Young Hero or Potenza, or any of our other amazing body treatments that we have here at Face. You can give us a call in office. You can email us. You can reach out to us via Instagram. We look forward to hearing from you.

FAQ’s:
The BBL laser is a corrective phototherapy treatment that uses Broadband Light (BBL) to target signs of aging, sun damage, and other skin conditions. This process will restore your skin to its natural beauty, making it clearer, smoother, and more vibrant.
The BBL laser treats brown pigmentation such as freckles and age spots. BBL also treats vascular issues such as redness, small blood vessels, and rosacea as well as aging skin, uneven skin texture, and loss of firmness.
The light energy delivered by the BBL laser will precisely deliver laser energy to specific targets in your skin and gently heat the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. If brown spots are the target, BBL penetrates the skin to reach the pigment. The particles of the pigment left behind will peel or slough off within 7-14 days. If redness is the target, blood vessels in the superficial layers of the skin absorb the laser energy which causes them to close. Over the course of several weeks, the body continues to absorb the destroyed vessel remnants.
Patients often describe a warm popping sensation. You may experience some discomfort in more sensitive areas. A topical anesthetic is not typically needed.
Immediately following treatment, you can expect to see redness, and it may feel like a slight sunburn in the treated area. Depending on the aggressiveness of your treatment, you may have swelling for a day or two. Pigmentation will turn darker and will slough off in 7-14 days.
All areas of the body can be treated. Long-term benefits of BBL are appreciated on all areas of the body.
Your provider will customize a treatment plan. Multiple sessions are performed every 2-6 weeks until the desired result has been achieved. Usually, 3 to 4 treatments are required for full correction, although additional treatments especially for rosacea and vascular sun damage, may be required.
You may be sensitive to sunlight and should apply sunscreen and other skin care products as directed by your provider.
