HOW TO PREPARE
- The area must be shaved 24 hours prior to your appointment.
- Nomakeup/lotion/deodorant on the day of your appointment (in the treatment area).
- Avoid waxing/threading/tweezing in the area for at least 4 weeks. Shaving is okay!
*Important note: laser services cannot be performed on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- During the treatment, you will likely feel light, warm, snapping sensations.
- The treated area may be extremely warm 1-2 hours after treatment & may continue for 12-24 hours.
- Redness is normal & typically subsides in 2-3 days.
- Minor swelling immediately after treatment is normal & typically subsides in 2-3days
- You may notice what appears to be hair growth for 7-30 days following treatment. This is not hair regrowing but treated hairs being shed from the skin.
HOW TO CARE
- It is normal for the treated area to feel like a sunburn for a few hours. You should use a cold compress if the sensitivity continues.
- Use a gentle cleanser & no makeup, lotion, moisturizer, or deodorant for the first 24 hours.
- Avoid swimming, particularly in pools containing chemicals, jacuzzis & saunas, activities that lead to excessive sweating or elevated core temperature, and avoid vigorous scrubbing or use of exfoliants.
- Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of dark or light spots for 2 months. Use sunscreen (SPF 25 or higher) at all times throughout the treatment period & for l-2 months following.
- Do not pick/scratch/wax/thread/tweeze the area.
- Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin.
Do not use any other hair removal methods or products, other than shaving, on the treated area during the course of your laser treatments, as it will prevent you from achieving the best results.
FAQ’s:
BAREit™ treats hair anywhere on the body. Common areas include the arms, legs, underarms, back, chest, & bikini area.
Since hair grows in stages, multiple treatments will be needed. Typically, patients require between 3 to 6 treatments.
Most patients describe the sensation similar to that of a rubber band snapping on the skin, which immediately stops once the treatment is over.
Treatments are typically spaced about 4 to 8 weeks apart. You can expect to see a gradual decrease in hair thickness and density throughout your treatment plan.
